    Obituary

    ?b?Charles Kirk Travis
    ?/b?( November 18, 1949 - March 01, 2019 )
Charles "Kirk" Travis, 69, passed from this life on Friday, March 1, 2019 at his home in Largo, Fl with his wife of 23 years, Wendy Daigle Travis, and his son, Joshua Daigle, of Fredericksburg, Virginia at his side. He was born in Port Arthur, Texas to Mildred and Jessie Travis and grew up in east Texas where he enjoyed baseball, fishing, and family.
Kirk served his country with the United States Air Force and was a retired/disabled veteran. He loved cooking and fishing but his greatest love was music. He had a great love for the Lord throughout his life and was blessed with an extraordinary talent for music and an amazing voice that he used to glorify the Savior and touch many lives. He began singing as a young boy with his identical twin brother, Kent, and after retiring from the Air Force he spent many years playing and singing southern gospel music, despite suffering from heart and kidney disease. Among the groups he played with throughout the years were The Sounds of Victory of East Texas, the Jubillaires of Winter Haven, Fl, and the Troubadors of Largo, Fl.
?u? ?/u?He is survived by his wife, Wendy Travis, and son, Joshua Daigle, of Virginia; son, James Travis; daughter, Charlie Howard; older brother, Phillip Travis; twin brother Kent Travis, all of Texas; four grandchildren, Chrissy White, Savannah Daigle, Makenna Daigle, and Jaxon Daigle; two great grandsons, along with nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by one grandson, J.T. White of Texas.
Kirk was a gentle soul who touched many with his music. He will be greatly missed but is surely now at home with the Lord and singing in that heavenly choir.
It was Kirk's wish to be cremated. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 23 at 1:00 p.m. at Teakwood Village Park, 800 North Missouri Ave. Largo, FL in the Aloha building. Interment will be held at 1:00 p.m. on March 25, 2019 at Bay Pines National Cemetery, 10000 Bay Pines Blvd., St. Petersburg, FL. To honor Kirk's memory, donations may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, Shriner's Hospital, or the charity of your choice.
A memorial service will also be held at Starr Funeral Home Chapel in Hemphill, Texas Saturday, March 23, 2019 at 2:00 p.m.
