At the time of the 1850 Sabine Parish Census, he was living in the household of Nathan and Elvira Cook (#272), and listed as FLANNAGAN. (Casagranda, 1850 Census, 86). Could he be related to Isaiah FLANAGAN in household #278? Scott Watkins instead shows this last name as FLANAKIN. Susis Alverson emailed, in May 2012, that "These are my great paternal grandparents. My father's name is Jasper R. Flanakin and James S. Flanakin was his father and mother was Lula Elizabeth Flanakin. Isaiah Falanakin was definitely in their lineage. "
