SAN ANTONIO--Jo Ann DeVries Payne, age 90, passed away, Tuesday, June 1, 2004, at her residence in San Antonio.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lammert and Janje DeVries; sister, Gertrude Rhodes; and a brother, Jacob DeVries.

She is survived by her daughter, Shirley P. Clark of San Antonio; five grandchildren, Eugene Clark, Marjorie Hinojosa, Wayne Clark, Bobby Clark and Michael Clark; six great-grandchildren; and give great-great-grandchildren who will miss her greatly.

Graveside funeral services will be at 3 p.m., Friday afternoon, June 4, 2004, at Roselawn Cemetery in McAllen.

Funeral services are entrusted to the care of Skinner Silva Funeral Home of Pharr.

Joanna married Eugene "Rusty" Russell Payne about 1937. Eugene (son of Aubrey Hamilton Payne and Sarah Jane Williams) was born on 20 Sep 1914 in Davidson, Tillman County, Oklahoma; died on 2 Mar 1980 in Mazon, Grundy County, Illinois; was buried on 5 Mar 1980. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
