Leroy married Elizabeth "Lizzie" McGrew on 16 Jul 1880. Elizabeth (daughter of Alexander Paxton McGrew and Arminda Williamson) was born about 1861 in Covington County, Mississippi; died on 18 Dec 1888 in Irene, East Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

Wynema McGrew writes that Leroy and Lizzie were the parents of Elizabeth and Leory Morris Behrnes. Lizzie died young, and was buried onthe Behrnes Family Plot on the Cottonville Plantation in Irene, LA. Leroy remarried and had additional children. He was buried iin Magnolia Cemetery, Baton Rouge, LA. (p. 41).
