1. | William Thomas Matheny was born on 4 Jan 1845 in Mississippi; died on 1 Jan 1928 in Copiah County, Mississippi; was buried in Poplar Springs Cemetery, Copiah County, Mississippi. Notes:
Could he have been married twice? At the time of the 1880 census, he is listed as married to a Fanny, which is indeed a nickname for Frances, and she is the correct age. However, there is an 8 year gap between daughter Emma and her younger siblings, and Emma is listed after the two younger children, and not before them, which is usual. FindAGrave indicates he was also married to Malinda Mississippi Murray (1855-1918).
