David Douglas Burdette, 60, of Hemphill, Texas passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2018 in LSU Medical Center Hospital in Shreveport, Louisiana.

David was born September 20, 1957 in Galveston, Texas to James Robert and Elizabeth Weaver Burdette. David was a long-time employee of Ritter Lumber Co. in Hemphill, Texas where he worked in sales and helping customers.

He enjoyed old cars and playing golf. He also loved to watch his sons play sports and was very proud of the boys and their accomplishments.

David is survived by his sons, Eric Burdette of Huntsville, Texas and Chris Burdette of Groves, Texas; brothers, James Robert Burdette of Houston, Texas and George Burdette of Hemphill, Texas; and sister, Elizabeth Kay Burdette of Madisonville, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Callie Fay Burdette.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 6, 2018 in Mt. Sinai Cemetery under the direction of Starr Funeral Home with Bro. Kevin Windham officiating.
