10. | William Carter Arnold was born on 29 Aug 1871 in Patroon, Shelby County, Texas (son of William Thomas Arnold, Sr. and Louisa Della Alford); died on 2 Jan 1923 in Hemphill, Sabine County, Texas; was buried in Hemphill City Cemetery, Hemphill, Sabine County, Texas. Notes:
Virgie Speight's wrote that William was a bookkeeper for Polk and Brooks in Beaumont. In 1916, he returned to Hemphill and became Sabine County Judge in 1920, a position he retained until his death in 1923.
His death certificate, an original copy of which can be viewed on FamilySearch.org, does not list his parents. It indicates the cause of death was a self inflicted gunshot wound, with apparent suicidal intent.

11. | Dollie Went was born on 6 Sep 1873 in Texas (daughter of John E. Went and Frances "Fanny" Whitehead); died on 4 Sep 1966 in Houston, Harris County, Texas; was buried in Hemphill City Cemetery, Hemphill, Sabine County, Texas. Notes:
In Virgie Speight's "Old Timers of Sabine County, Texas," a column originally written September 26, 1963 about Dolly Wente Arnold was published, on the occasion of Dollie's Ninetieth Birth Anniversary. Dolly remembered her mother spinning thread and weaving cloth, skills which she learned as a child, but did not have to use after growing up. She continues to knit, crochet and embroider. Mrs. Arnold and her two sisters attended a private school in Hemphill taught by Miss Margaret Weatherred, and later went to Hemphill public school. (Speights, p. 22)
At the time of the 1940 census, Dolly was living with her daughter and son-in-law, Della and John Cox, in Houston, Texas.
