Rodney Dale Heller

Rodney Dale Heller, 85, passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2020 in the Sabine County Hospital. He was born in Fremont, Nebraska, to Howard and Mable Elizabeth Heller. Rodney was raised on the family farm in Nebraska and moved to San Augustine and Sabine Counties in 1953 after graduating from High School. Rodney worked as a Meat Inspector for the USDA. He attended the New Hope Baptist Church in Milam and loved to hunt and especially loved his dogs.

Rodney is survived by his wife, Sandra Heller of Hemphill; his son, Randy Heller and his wife, Mary; daughters, Sheryl Brannan and her husband, Steve, Sheila Brown, and Sharon Taylor and husband, Rusty. He is also survived by step-sons, Brock Poole and his wife, Margaret, Zachary Poole, and numerous grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held Thursday morning at 10:00, Dec. 24, 2020, in the Macune Cemetery, San Augustine County, Texas, under the direction of Starr Funeral Home.

Gay (daughter of Preston Henry Maxey and Dixie Bell Ferguson) was born on 7 Mar 1939 in Milam, Sabine County, Texas; died on 18 Nov 2018 in Lufkin, Angelina County, Texas; was buried in King Cemetery, Milam, Sabine County, Texas.
