  1. 1.  Marion Allen Stoneking was born on 30 Nov 1895 in Kelly, Socorro County, New Mexico; died on 12 Jan 1954; was buried in Sunset Memorial Park, Albuquerque, Bernalillo County, New Mexico.

    Notes:

His FindAGrave memorial page, created by "ProgBase" has a photo of his military marker. It is engraved with a cross and the following "Marion A. Stoneking, New Mexico, SFC 475 Aero Sq World War I Nov 30 1893 [???] Jan 12 1954"

When he registered for the draft during World War I, he was single, and a resident of Holbrook, Arizona. He worked for Babbitt Bros as a Warehouse foreman. His place of birth was listed as Kelly, New Mexico. He was described as Tall and of medium build, with gray eyes and light brown hair.

His DOB may be wrong on his tombstone, as his registration for the draft shows he was born on 30 Nov 1896, which is consistent with his reported ages at the time of the 1920 and 1930 census enumerations. The SSDI has yet a third difference, showing 30 Nov 1895. The year 1895 matches his application for a military headstone, and is assumed to be the most accurate. This application was signed by his apparent widow, Luella Corbett Stoneking. Luella is also buried at Sunset Memorial Park. The Bernalillo County marriage index shows that Marion and Luella Whittaker were married circa 1950.
