    Ashley was born June 18, 1995 in Huntsville, Texas to Nathan and Tammy Diane Clark Ener. She was a graduate of Hemphill High School and was a Certified Nurses Aid working in the Home Health field. She was a lifelong resident of Hemphill, Texas.

    Ashley is survived by her parents, Nathan and Tammy Ener of Hemphill; grandparents, W.P. and Mamie Ener of Milam, Texas, Tommy and Patsy Clark of Hemphill, Texas and Dianne Vines of Brookeland, Texas; brother, Nathan Ryan Ener of Hemphill; and sister, Chelsea Ann Ener of Hemphill.

    She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Ronald Vines.

    Funeral services for Ashley will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 20, 2017 in Starr Funeral Home Chapel, 510 Starr Street, Hemphill, Texas with burial to follow in Ener Cemetery, Yellowpine, Texas.

    SABINE COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -
    A 22-year-old woman died when she drove off the road near Hemphill late Monday night, and her SUV struck a tree.

    According to a press release from the Texas Department of Public Safety, the one-vehicle crash occurred on State Highway 87 about one mile south of Hemphill at about 11:25 p.m. Monday.

    The preliminary crash report shows that Ashley Nicole Ener, of Hemphill, was driving a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee north on SH 87 when she drove over into the southbound lane. Ener then over-corrected to the right then back to the left before her vehicle left the road and struck a tree, the press release stated.

    A Sabine County justice of the peace pronounced Ener dead at the scene of the wreck.

    The wreck is still under investigation.

    Winfred P. Ener left this world and entered Heaven's Gates on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 while at Shady Shores Nursing Home in Hemphill, Texas. He was 90 years old.

    Winfred was born September 20, 1929 in Hemphill, Texas to Hamp and Bess Mae Ener. He attended one room schoolhouses in Sabine County until attending high school in Hemphill.

    In 1951, Winfred was drafted into the Army, serving in the Korean War, returning home with a purple heart. He made a living as a truck driver and a cattle rancher. Winfred also preached and pastored churches across Sabine County.

    Mr. Ener is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Esta Fay Ener; second wife, Mammie Ener; and sisters, Bettie Mae McGraw and Dorothy Webb; granddaughter, Ashley Ener; and great granddaughter, Abigale DaMoude.

    He is survived by his children, Winfred J. Ener of Austin, Linda Espin and husband, Dennis, of Waco, Patricia Simons and husband, Randy, of Crawford, Sandra Cepak and husband, Mark, of Elm Mott, Joe Ener and wife, Debbie, of Hemphill and Nathan Ener and wife, Tammy, of Hemphill.

    Winfred leaves behind twelve grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

    Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 3, 2019 at Starr Funeral Home Chapel, 510 Starr Street, Hemphill, Texas with Bro. Kevin Windham and Joe Ener officiating.

    Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m. prior to service time.

    Burial will follow services in Oak Hill Cemetery, 300 Oakhill Rd., Hemphill, Texas.

    Life on earth came to a close for Tommy Clark on July 16, 2022 at Woodland Heights Hospital, Lufkin, TX.

    Tommy was born on April 26, 1945, in Hemphill, TX, to Edward and Arzel Smith Clark. Tommy retired from Temple Inland and Sabine County Road and Bridge. He then served as a Sabine County Commissioner, Precinct 1, for 8 years. He also was a member of Littleton Fowler No. 305 AF & AM where he served a Worshipful Master. He was a member of Hemphill Order of the Eastern Star No. 375 serving as Worthy Patron.

    Tommy was preceded in death by three brothers: Willie Earl Clark, Joe Lynn Clark and Charles Edward Clark and a grandson: Jason Williams and a granddaughter: Ashley Nicole Ener. Tommy's memory will be cherished by his loving wife of 35 years, Patsy Clark.

    Tommy also leaves behind One daughter: Tammy Ener and her husband Nathan Ener of Hemphill, TX and three sons: Harold Clark and his wife Debi of Chiefland, FL, Wilton Steele Netterville, Jr. and his wife Johanna of Vidor, TX, and Rebel Wayne Netterville and his wife Lisa of Anahuac, TX.

    Seven grandchildren: Jeff Williams of St. Cloud, FL, Chelsea Ener of Carthage, TX, and Nathan Ryan Ener, NY. Erin Howell and her husband Will of Highland, TX, Justin Netterville, Cody Netterville and his wife Magan of Hankamer, TX, Tyler Netterville and his wife Hillary of Kirbyville, TX. Thirteen great-grandchildren: Haley Bradley, Elizabeth and Jacob Williams, Vivy Ann and Bryce Howell, Justin Netterville Jr., Jeslynn Netterville, Jentri Netterville, Cooper Wayne Netterville, Tyson Lance Netterville, Brody Mack Netterville, Wyatt Netterville and Mela Netterville. A brother, Glen Dale Clark of Childster, AK, and a sister, Carolyn Clark of Port Arthur, TX. Tommy also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

    Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 21, 2022 at Starr Funeral Home in Hemphill, Texas.

    Funeral services will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 22, 2022 at Starr Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Eddie Ballard and Bro. Floyd Wright officiating.

    Masonic Services will follow religious services in the chapel.

    Burial will follow services in Fairmount Cemetery with Jimmy McDaniel, Carlin McDaniel, Jerry Wayne Smith, Bruce Ladner, Shannon Cox and Eleazar Carranza serving as pallbearers. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be County Commissioners, Employees of Sabine County Road and Bridge and Littleton Fowler Lodge #305.
