    A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.

    LaRene was born December 3, 1930, in Lincoln, Nebraska, to Charles and Anne (Koca) Krupicka. She attended Geneva Public Schools and after graduation went to work as a phone operator in York, Nebraska. On June 27, 1953, LaRene was united in marriage to Robert Busler at the First Presbyterian Church in York.

    The couple moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado, and then back to York before moving to Columbus in 1957. LaRene was a member of Navy Mothers, and the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed crafts, sewing, jigsaw puzzles, and was an avid reader.

    Notes:

    After their marriage, Albert and Rose first lived in the Ohiowa area. They wanted to move back to Milligan, so they purchased the NE 1/4 of Section 8, Glengary Township from Bridget O'Boyle on April 2, 1902. Albert borrowed the money from his parents to do so, witht he stipulation that he pay each of his parents $40 annually. He also was to give his mother 200 pounds of flour a year, but she died two months after her signed the deed. They built a new home on the farm in 1904. After Rose died unexpectedly, Albert retired to town, leaving the farming to his sons. He was in poor health and living in a room of the Milligan Hotel when he committed suicide. He was 73 years old. He was buried near his wife (Milligan, p 335).

    Albert married Ruzena "Rosie" Simic on 15 Feb 1898 in Glengary Township, Fillmore County, Nebraska. Ruzena was born on 8 May 1879 in Bohemia; died on 11 Sep 1932 in Glengary Township, Fillmore County, Nebraska; was buried in Bohemian National Cemetery (Milligan South), Milligan, Fillmore County, Nebraska.     Notes:

    She came to the United States with her family in 1884, settling near Morse Bluff in Saunders County. They moved to Fillmore County in 1901. Ten children were born to her parents, Frantisek SIMIC and Ruzena BURES. Her siblings, as noted in the obituary of her father, were: Frank, John, Emil, Albert, Joseph and Agnes, who later married a McNichols of Carlteon. (Milligan, p 335).

    Notes:

    Frank was working as a cobbler in Bohemia at the age of 16, and moved to America at the age of 17

    His first home after he married was a farm in Glengary Township. He acquired land by paying the railroad $500 for one half of a farm and Albert Tyson $2,000 for the remaining half. He and Josefa first build a sod house, then replaced this with a small home. Lated they moved to a farm in Chelsea Township, and finally moved to Milligan.

    Frank became a citizen on February 24, 1896. He was a member of Lodge Rabi #27. (Milligan, p 201)

    Notes:

    Josefa Fujan, daughter of Frank and Mary Ziska Fujan, was born at Hinze, Krah Plzen, Okres Kralovice, Bohemia on February 17, 1862. She came to this country with Mr. and Mrs. Frank Holzinger and her brother, John Fujan, reaching the United States on Good Friday in 1879. Her parents, brothers Jim, Frank, and sister, Mary Kaderabek stayed in Czechoslovakia. A half brother, Tom Andel and half sister, Marie Andel, came to America at another time. Tom stayed in Chicago and Marie married Frank's brother Cyril.

    She was a member of Lodge Cechie #122 ZCBJ of Milligan (Milligan, p 201)

    The son of Victor KOCA. They sailed from Bremen, Germany aboard the steamship "Ohio" with 454 aliens and 77 citizens aboard. Anna's sister, Katherine SOPR was traveling with them. They headed to Braidwood, Illinois, working in the mines for 17 months before heading farther west to Fillmore. When first in Fillmore, they made their home with Frank KOTAS and Mary BERNASEK. Vaclav purchased the SW 1/4 of Section 11 from the Burlington and Missouri River Railroad Company.

    Vaclav married Anna Sopr on 20 Feb 1860 in Bohemia.     Vaclav and Anna were determined to give each of their children a farm, so made several additional land purchases. All of this land was still owned by the Koca family as of 1987. (Milligan, p 342).
