George was born November 12, 1932, in Budapest, Hungary, the son of Gyorgy and Erzsebet Schillerwein Muntean. On January 20, 1957, he married Eva K. Bardos.

Mr. Muntean worked for Cummins Engine Company for 35 years. He retired as the Vice President of Fuel Systems.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Eva; daughters, Eva G. Muntean of San Francisco, CA, Marta M. (Gustavo) Garza of Houston, TX, George G. (Kelley) Muntean of Washington; ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister, Maria (Joseph) Mohos of Burbank, CA; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Laszlo Muntean.

In keeping with the family's wishes, cremation is planned. A Rosary service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, July 27th at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow the rosary at 1:00 p.m. with Father Clem Davis officiating. Reception to follow.

Inurnment will be at a later date at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Galveston, Texas.

The family would like to thank all the friends and relatives who came to support George in his final days. This meant so much to him and to the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
