Jeannie Adkison, 63, of Hemphill, Texas passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2022 at home surrounded by her loved ones.

Jeannie was born on October 1, 1958 in Charleston, South Carolina to Robert Franklin Dickerson and Wilma Jean Latham. She was a loving housewife, mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, R.F. Dickerson and Wilma Jean Latham Dickerson; her first husband, Richard Hopson; her second husband, Terry Adkison, Sr.; brothers, Terry Jo Dickerson, Billy Waldon and Robert (Dickie) Dickerson, Jr.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at Starr Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at Starr Funeral Home with Bro. Pat Jacks and Bro. Danny Bentsen officiating.

Burial will follow services at Springhill Cemetery in Hemphill, Texas with Charles Dickerson, Tommy Dickerson, Bobby Waldon, Steven Waldon, Eric Rogers, Shaun Rogers and Richard Hopson serving as pallbearers.

Obituary

Robert Franklin Dickerson, 79, of Hemphill, Texas, passed away Saturday, April 1, 2017 at Hemphill Care Center. Mr. Dickerson was born June 29, 1937 to Cull and Hazel Smith Dickerson. He was a retired truck driver and worked for the Corp of Engineers. He was a United State Air Force veteran.

Mr. Dickerson is survived by his sons, Tommy Dickerson and wife, Peggy, of Hemphill, Charles Dickerson and wife, Patsy, of Milam, Robert Dickerson and Donna Kay, of Hemphill; daughters, Jeannie Adkinson and husband, Terry, of Center, Texas, Rita Faye Albretch and husband, Marvin, of Houston, Texas, and Regina Rock and husband, Chris, of Pasadena, Texas; step-children, Toni, Vicki, Willie, Mark, Bobby, Billy, and Steven; 30 grandchildren, 51 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his sons, Terry Joe Dickerson and Robert "Dicky" Dickerson.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Sunday, April 2, 2017 from at Starr Funeral Home, 510 Starr St., Hemphill, Texas.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 3, 2017 in Starr Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Springhill Cemetery.

Wilma Jean Waldon Dickerson 74, passed away Wednesday morning, March 3, 2016, in the Sabine County Hospital in Hemphill, Texas. Wilma was born in Jasper, Texas to Charlie and Mona Easley Latham. She worked as a Certified Nurses Aide for the Nursing Home. She was a member of the Bronson Revival Center in Bronson, Texas. She was a loving wife, mother, step mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother.

She is survived by her husband Robert F. Dickerson of Hemphill, six sons: Robert Gene Dickerson of Hemphill, Charles Paul Dickerson of Milam, Tommy Glenn Dickerson of Hemphill, Billy John Waldon of Hemphill, Bobby Arlon Waldon of Hemphill, and Steven Dewayne Waldon of Galveston, her daughter Jeannie Adkison of Center; six brothers and sisters: Elna Kincel of Hemphill, Donald Latham of Pineland, Ronnie Latham of Lufkin, Margie Williams of Broaddus, Dorothy Bayless of Pineland, and Christine Jacks of Hudson; six step-children; Judy Latham of Lufkin, Texas, Benny Waldon of Alverado, Texas, Buddy Waldon of Hemphill,Jan Linzy of Lufkin, Texas Rita Albrecht of Houston,Texas and Regina Rock of Houston, Texas,fifteen grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.

She is preceded in death by her parents Mona and Charlie Melvin Latham, her son Terry Joe Dickerson, her sister Marcille Latham, her brother Gerald Latham, and her other sister Barbara Ann Bragg.

Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00PM, Friday, March 5, 2016, in the Starr Funeral Home, 510 Starr St. Hemphill, Texas. Funeral service will be at 2:00PM, Saturday, March 6, 2016, in the Starr Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Springhill Cemetery, in Hemphill, Texas.
