Eloiza Canales
Beeville - Mrs. Eloiza Canales, 80, of Beeville, died Thursday in a Goliad hospital following a short illness.

A native of Webb County, she was born May 22, 1907.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 pm Saturday at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church with the Rev. Bartholo DeLeon officiating.

Burial will follow the services in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Trevino Funeral Home.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Sophie Martinez and Mrs. Santo Kerfoot of Beeville, three sons, Adolfo Fuentes and Louis C. Sanchez, Sr of Beeville, Juca C Sanchez Sr of Youngsville, LA; two sisters, Mrs. Benita Moreno of Corpus Christi and Mrs. Jesusa Contreras of San Antonio, a brother, Servando Laurel of Corpus Christi, 12 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Notes:

The United States Petition for Naturalization (No. 1463) for Paulino Canales Laurel was filed in the US District Court, Southern District, Corpus Christi, Texas, in about 1947. Paulino was age 75, and residing at 713 Bluntzer, Corpus Christi, TX, a retired merchant.

He stated his date of birth was June 22 1872 in Ciudad Guerroro, Tamps, Mexico. He was 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighed 150 pounds, and had a scar over his right eyebrow. He stated he was married to Amada Vela de Laurel, on Nov 11, 1904 in Laredo, Texas. She was born in Ojuelos, Webb County, Texas on June 1 1885.

They had seven children, as follows:

His lawful entry for permanent residence in the United States was at Zapata, Texas under the name Paulino Canales Laurel on November 1880 on a Boat, and he had resided in the US for 67 years

Paulino C. Laurel

Funeral services for Paulino C Laurel, 70, of 2516 Coleman, will be at 4 pm today at Angelus Funeral Chapel with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Laurel died at 1 am yesterday at his home following a long illness.

A resident hear 15 years, he was a member of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Surviving are his wire, Mrs. Amada V. Laurel; four daughters, Mrs. Benita Moreno and Pauline Laurel, both of Corpus Christi, Mrs. Eloisa Canales of Beeville and Mrs. Jesse Contreras of San Antonio, two sons.

Paulino married Amada Vela on 11 Nov 1904 in Laredo, Webb County, Texas. Amada was born on 1 Jun 1885 in Ojuelos, Webb County, Texas; died on 21 Aug 1961 in Nueces County, Texas; was buried in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Corpus Christi, Nueces, Texas. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
