On Kay Parker McCary's annotated transcription of the Fairmount Cemetery, there is a listing for her as Carolyn Ann Clark, date of birth 8 May 1944, with no date of death listed. The headstone is inscribed "Home at Last" and Kay shows her as a daughter of William Ira Clark and Lexie Olivia McNaughter, and also indicates that her husband was Charles Eugene Womack. There is not a listing for her husband at the Fairmount Cemetery, he instead is buried with a military marker at the Rosevine Cemetery, also in Sabine County.

Obituary

Carolyn Ann Clark, 68, died Thursday night in the Lufkin Memorial Hospital. She was born in Pt. Neches, Texas, to Ira and Lexie McNaughten Clark. Carolyn was a lifetime resident of Hemphill, Texas.

She is survived by her sister Oweda Boyd of Nacogdoches, her brother Terrel (W.T.) Clark and his wife Rosa Ann of Hemphill, and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son Charles Womack, Jr.

Memorial services will be announced at a later date by the family.

William Ira Clark

William Ira Clark, 93, of Hemphill died Wednesday, Feb. 18, 1998, at Twin Lakes Care Center in San Augustine.

Born Aug. 4, 1904, in Clarktown community as a son of the late Monroe and Bessie (Williams) Clark, he was a lifelong resident of the area and was a retired pipefitter for Local #395. Clark was a member of East Mayfield Baptist Church and Littleton Fowler Masonic Lodge #305.

Survivors: wife, Lexie Clark of Hemphill; a son, Terrel Clark of Hemphill; daughters, Oweda Boyd of Nacogdoches and Caroline Womack of Hemphill; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one great-great granchild.

Funeral services were held Feb. 21 at the chapel of Starr Funeral Home Inc. in Hemphill with Bro. Homer Williams, Bro. W. Clarence Howell, and Bro. W. P. Murchinson officiating. Interment followed at Fairmount Cemetery in Fairmount.

Lexie Olivia Clark

Lexie Olivia Clark, 91, of Hemphill died at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 8, 2004, at Colonial Pines Healthcare Center in San Augustine. Mrs. Clark was born Nov. 5, 1912, in Fairmount as a daughter of the late Julie Emma (Edgar) and Daniel Edward McNaughten and had been a lifelong resident of the area. A homemaker, she was a member of the East Mayfield Baptist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star. Survivors: son and daughter-in-law, Terrell and Rose Clark of Hemphill; daughters, Carolyn WOMACK of Hemphill and Oweda BOYD of Nacogdoches; eight grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Oct. 11 at the chapel of Starr Funeral Home Inc. in Hemphill with Bro. Jim Crump officiating. Interment followed at Fairmount Cemetery in Fairmount.
