Walton Burton "Woody" Wood, 78, of Duncan, died Tuesday, Sept. 1, 1998, in Duncan Regional Hospital after a long illness. Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Duncan Cemetery with Randy Southerland officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Morehead-Goetz Funeral Home in Duncan. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday. Mr. Wood was born July 4, 1920 in Ringling to William B. and Willie V. Wood. On March 1, 1962, he married Darlene Trawick in Wichita Falls, Texas. She preceded him in death February 1989. Mr. Wood was a car salesman and a member of OGBA. He was volunteer for the Stephens County Sheriff Department. Survivors include a son, Buddy Wood of Duncan, a step-son, Billy Ray Pendleton of Norman; a daughter Kathi Jones of Edmond; two brothers, F. B. Wood of Comanche, W. B. Wood of Pampa, Texas; his caregiver, Joy Pelley, of Comanche and two grandchildren.

Walton married Darlene Trawick on 1 Mar 1963 in Wichita Falls, Wichita County, Texas. Darlene (daughter of Talley P. Trawick and Ruby Ione Pierce) was born on 30 Jul 1936; died on 12 Feb 1989 in Duncan, Stephens County, Oklahoma. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
