He was shown as tall and stout, with blue eyes and slightly balding brown hair. On "ASHLEY-PACE Family" tree on RootsWeb's WorldConnect, he is shown as a son of Henderson Coulter and Mary C McCauley. The tombstone for Mary McCauley Coulter, wife of Henderson Coulter, is listed at Old Salem Cemetery in Center, Shelby County, Texas on FindAGrave. She was shown as born on 7 May 1864 and died on 15 July 1935. There is no listing for Henderson.
