    Notes:

Obituary from the FindAGrave Memorial Page created by Michael and Jennifer McBride.

With her two daughters at her bedside, Billie Krause departed this earthly life Tuesday morning March 15, 2011. Mrs. Krause was born April 9, 1923, to parents George Wesley McBride and Ruth Madeline Moss McBride in Denning, Texas.

Her childhood was spent in San Augustine until she finished high school. After graduating from Business College in Beaumont, Texas, she worked for Western Union in New Orleans. With the coming of World War II she transferred to New York where she met and married her husband of 54 years, Richard Hermann Krause, Jr. After completing his military service Mr. and Mrs. Krause moved their two young daughters to Freeport, Texas, where Mr. Krause worked for Dow Chemical. Her family was completed with the birth of their son in Freeport. Mrs. Krause lived in Freeport for more than 50 years raising her three children and entertaining her four grandchildren.

Mrs. Krause was employed by several children's clothing stores but she always considered her primary role as a wife, mother and homemaker, at which she excelled. Following the death of her husband on 1999, she moved to Nacogdoches in 2004. Mrs. Krause was a faithful and devoted member of the Church of Christ in every location in which she lived. As befitted her life, one of her last conscious acts was assembling to worship God with fellow Christians the last Sunday morning of her life.

Survivors include daughters Martha Emerson Page of Nacogdoches, Mary Louise Jobe and husband Bill of Nacogdoches, son Richard Stuart Krause of Federal Way, Washington; grandchildren Richard Stuart Krause, Jr. and wife Tara of Austin, Kelli Krause Paddock and husband Travis of Renton, Washington, Aaron Jobe and wife Corley of Nacogdoches, Paige Jobe Perez and husband Mike of Waco; great-grandchildren Austin, Cody and Jackson Paddock of Renton, Washington, Piper Jobe of Nacogdoches and Zachary Krause of Austin; sister Betty Barclay of Tyler; brother-in-law J.D. Harkrider of Nacogdoches; sister-in-law Mimi McConnell of North Ft. Myers, Florida, numerous nieces and nephews, and three special cousins; Elton, Thelma, and Winnie Nicholson.

Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, March 17, 2011, at Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel. Conducting the services will be Randy Harshbarger of Stallings Drive Church of Christ in Nacogdoches, and nephew Robert Harkrider of Orlando, Florida. Interment will follow at Lower Chireno Cemetery in Chireno, Texas.

  1. 2.  George W. McBride was born on 22 Nov 1889 in Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana; died on 21 Jan 1954 in Jefferson County, Texas; was buried in Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches, Jefferson County, Texas.

    Notes:

His Texas Death Certificate shows him as a retired carpenter, and that he was a son of Walter McBRIDE, born Louisiana, and Mary GREENLEE, born Arkansas.

His FindAGrave Memorial page, created by Michael and Jennifer McBride, contains the following information:

There has been disagreement in the family as to what his middle name was. His social security card says it was Washington, but some members are fairly certain it was actually Wesley.

His WWI Draft Registration record says it was Walker. This is what he swore to and how he signed it so this is what I will go with. It is likely that there was not a birth certificate when he born and he had to obtain a delayed birth certificate when he needed it for Social Security. A delayed birth certificate would have required finding someone who had first hand knowledge of his birth. It is possible he changed his middle name to Washington at that time due to what someone else said for the delayed birth certificate.

FindAGrave also links him to three wives, Pearl PRICE (1890-1918), Ruth MOSS [the widow] Rawson (1892-1924), and Alma (1908-1959). There are also seven children linked to him on that website.

George married Ruth Madeline Moss on 17 Nov 1921. Ruth was born about 1893 in Texas; died on 10 Mar 1924. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

  2. 3.  Ruth Madeline Moss was born about 1893 in Texas; died on 10 Mar 1924.

    Notes:

It appears that Ruth may have died or remarried prior to 1930, as of the time of that census her three youngest daughters were living with their grandmother, Ella Rawson, in the 2nd Precinct of San Augustine. Michael McBride emailed, in July 2011, that she remarried George W. McBRIDE on 17 Nov 1921, and they had one daughter, Billie Juan McBRIDE. After Ruth died, her daughters by James went to live with Ella Rawson, and Billie went to live with her McBride/Nicholson relatives.
