    Notes:

Hezekiah Waldrop was the child of John Waldrop b. circa 1732 in Hanover Co., VA and Tabitha Parrish. This family can be traced further back to Michael Waldrop b. circa 1680 in VA. The father of Claiborne Waldroup died in MS after 1850 in possibly Holmes County. Paula Jones, a family researcher, states that Claiborne Parrish Waldrop always spelled his name as WALDROP.

No listings for Waldrop or any spelling variation in the Sabine Parish cemetery records.

The History of Sabine Parish, Louisiana (author John Belisle, The Sabine Banner Press, 1912) states that "in 1860 the white population of Sabine Parish numbers about four thousant, and there were less than two thousand slaves. There were few really wealthy people in the parish, and many owned not more than one of two slaves. the owners of six or more in 1861 included C. P. Waldrup.
