Merlin K. Hulse

Notes:

The son of Henry August HULSE and Alba Belle ZAJIC. A 1942 graduate of Exeter High School. He was employed by Rolls Transfer in Friend at the age of 16, hauling freight out of Lincoln. His health prohibited him from serving in the military during the Second World War. He was self-employed raising hogs, feeding cattle, and did custom work for area farmers, along with trucking grain and livestock. He is the owner/operator of Hulse Trucking, and he and Rose Marie lived on a 240-acre farm in York County as of 1988 (Milligan, p 314).

Merlin married Rose Marie Kotas on 14 Oct 1947 in Milligan, Fillmore County, Nebraska. Rose (daughter of John Henry Kotas and Anna Rose Koca) was born on 15 Mar 1926 in Glengary Township, Fillmore County, Nebraska; died on 23 Jul 2015 in York, York County, Nebraska; was buried in Bohemian Brethren Cemetery (AKA Cesky Bratri Cemetery), Fillmore County, Nebraska. They were married at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church. Attendants were her brother, Joseph John KOTAS and his sister, Neva Irene (Lowell) JENSEN of Exeter. (Milligan, p 313-314).
