Marie "Mary" Volmut

Notes:

John Holpuch died of pleurisy on January 7, 1902, at the age of 62 years. He was bured at Ceski Bratri Cemetery. Mary Holpuch was left with 5 children, the oldest being 15 years old and the youngest was only 4. She raised her children in Milligan. She moved to Lawrence, Nebraska to help raise the children of her daughter, Mrs. Frank Rischling, who died April 10, 1928. She continued to make her home with her son-in-law in Lawrence where she became very ill, passing away on March 30, 1936, at the age of 76 years. She was buried near her husband in Cescki Bratri Cemetery.

John HOLPUCH, age 46, was married to Mary VOLMUT, age 25, on November 6, 1884, by a Catholic priest at Tobias. The witnesses were John's daughter, Katherine, and Frank KRISL. (Milligan, p 302).

3. Anna Holpuch was born on 8 Jul 1889 in Milligan, Fillmore County, Nebraska; died on 31 Aug 1922; was buried in Bohemian Brethren Cemetery (AKA Cesky Bratri Cemetery), Fillmore County, Nebraska.
4. Frank Holpuch was born about 1891 in Saline County, Nebraska.
5. Mary Holpuch was born on 2 Feb 1894 in Milligan, Fillmore County, Nebraska; died on 13 Feb 1965 in Lincoln, Lancaster County, Nebraska; was buried in Lincoln Memorial Park, Lincoln, Lancaster County, Nebraska.
6. Joseph Holpuch was born on 16 Mar 1897 in Nebraska; died in Aug 1984 in Homeland, Riverside County, California.

Notes:

Joseph and Anna Volmut came to the United States in 1889 with their two youngest daughters, Antonie (19) and Barbara (16). They lived with their oldest daughter, Mrs. John (Mary) Holpuch, of Altanta Precinct in Saline County. Two of the Volmut daughters, Mary and Anna, had come to Saline County earlier where they were married. (Milligan, p. 574).

Joseph married Anna Vanis. Anna was born on 11 Nov 1835 in Bohemia; died on 27 Mar 1903 in Nebraska; was buried in Bohemian Brethren Cemetery (AKA Cesky Bratri Cemetery), Fillmore County, Nebraska. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
