Korbelik -- Joseph H., 81, Ohiowa, died Monday (2/15/99) in Lincoln. Born, Milligan (7/1/17) to Joseph and Francis (Stejskal) Korbelik. Survivors: wife, Lillian M.; son, daughter-in-law, Gary and Diane, Geneva; daughter, friend, Shirley Brdicko and Jim Simmonds, Papillion; five grandchildren; two stepgrandsons; two greatgranddaughters.

Services: 10 a.m. Thursday, Farmer & Son Funeral Home, Kotas Chapel, Milligan. Bohemian National Cemetery, Milligan. Kim Dunker officiating. Visitation: beginning 1 p.m. Wednesday, Kotas Chapel. Memorials in lieu of flowers to the Korbelik family

(Research):Jamie Korbelik-Gibson, 34, Lincoln, died Friday (2-11-11) in Eagle. Born (2-16-76) in York to Gary Korbelik and Patti Wilhelms. Registered EEG Technologist at BryanLGH Medical Center East. Doane College Alumni. A passionate runner and painter. A loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. Dedicated to a life of caring and putting others first.
Family members include her children, Ethan and Lillian; their father and Jamie's former husband, Adam Gibson; father, Gary and spouse Brenda Korbelik; sister, Jessica Korbelik and her sons Hunter and Damien; brother, Brandon Korbelik and his children Joseph, Haley and Zachary; grandmothers, Lillian Korbelik and Lavinia Wilhelms; aunt and uncle, Shirley and Jim Simmonds; Adam Gibson's parents Don and Julie Gibson; mother, Patti Witters; half-sisters, Jennifer, Leslie and Lindsey Witters. Preceded in death by grandfathers Joseph Korbelik and Eilert Wilhelms.
Memorial service: 11 a.m. Friday (2-18-11) Roper and Sons Chapel, 4300 'O' Street. No visitation, cremation. Memorials to the family. Arrangements by Roper and Sons Funeral Services.

Joseph married Lillian Maxine Strauss about 1940. Lillian was born on 2 Sep 1921 in Ohiowa, Fillmore County, Nebraska; died on 17 Jan 2013 in Papillion, Sarpy County, Nebraska; was buried in Bohemian National Cemetery (Milligan South), Milligan, Fillmore County, Nebraska. Married:
After their marriage, they lived on a farm in Ohiowa. In 1950, they moved to the Ed JANOUSEK farm west of Milligan. Their two children, Shirley and Glenn were born there. Shirley BRDICKA, who lives in Papillion, is a legal secretary. She has two children, Chad (Ninth grade) and Wendy (Second Grade). Gary KORBELIK was a diesel mechanic for seven years in Geneva, and then went into farming. He has three children: Jamie (Fifth Grade), Brandon (Fourth Grade), and Jessica (age seven, in the Second Grade). (Milligan, p 346).

He attended School District #43 up to the third grade. He lived and worked on the farm with his parents until his marriage. (Milligan, p 346).

Joseph married Frances Stejskal on 24 May 1916 in Nebraska. Frances (daughter of John Stejskal and Marie Stastny) was born on 22 Oct 1892 in Ohiowa, Fillmore County, Nebraska; died on 8 Sep 1965 in Nebraska; was buried in Bohemian National Cemetery (Milligan South), Milligan, Fillmore County, Nebraska. Ken Chromy shows he immigrated abord the ship "America" on 1 Nov 1869. He first went to Chicago.

Came to the Milligan area in October of 1870. He and his son homesteaded the SW 1/4 of Section 10 in Glengary Township. Jan intially built a dugout 12 x 16 feet with two doors and two windows. The applications filed by Jan and Vaclav were signed with an 'X.' The same day, father and son applied for their naturalization papers in Gage County. Their final citizenship papers were received on 13 June 1876. By 1877, Jan had plowed and cultivated sixty of the eighty acres, built a sod stable, frame granary, bored a 40 ft well, and planted 700 forest and fruit trees. He received his land patent on May 16, 1878. (Milligan, p. 202)

Ken Chromy shows her year of birth as 1819 vs. 1820, and indicates she was born in Kralovice, Plzen, Bohemia. He states she immigrated in 1873.
