The papers of Ester McGrew Hardin show that William Andrews was a confederate soldier. The information about this family is from both the book REFUGIO and from a conversation with Maud Paschal Gattis, a step-daughter of Emma Andrew. Emma's mother died when she was 7, and her father died when she was 12. She was raised by the McGrew and Andrew's families.
