DOB may be in error, as Everett Reese Pratt, said to be his younger brother is said to be born in November 1872, 4 months after Hampton's birth.

Their wedding was at the home of her parents, with Preacher Martin, a hard-shell Baptist Minister officiating. There was a big crowd. Members of the family, including children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, attended church services Sunday making a total of 45 in all.

"The Adkinses are a young-looking, young-acting couple in excellent health, he gardens and she takes care of her house, fills her freezer and then cans about 200 jars of food each year...He and a neighbor, Mrs. W. C. Boyd, share a garden...Mr. and Mrs. Adkins also lived in Jasper, and in Jackson County, Oklahoma, always being engaged in farming and ranching and retiring in 1960."
