Carolyn Jean Woods, 75 died in the Lufkin Memorial Hospital, Saturday, April 21, 2012, after an illness.

She was born in Shelby County to Elvie and Brooksie Williams Atkison. Mrs. Woods was married to the late Fed Woods and had lived in Hemphill all her life. She retired as a bank teller from the First State Bank, Hemphill, TX in 2010, after 29 years of service.

Carolyn is survived by her son Terry Woods and his wife Frieda of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, daughters; Tammie Cox and her husband Brent, Trina King and her husband Troy and Tricia Jacks and her husband, Adrian all of Hemphill. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Ansley, Justin, Jordan, Kayla and Kyle, her great grandchild Viktoria, two brothers and five sisters.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 24, in the Starr Funeral Home in Hemphill. Burial followed in the Hemphill Cemetery.Online condolences may be posted at www.starfuneralhome.com.

Carolyn married Fed Milton Woods on 15 Apr 1955. Fed was born on 6 Jan 1931 in Newton, Newton County, Texas; died on 5 Dec 1998 in Sabine County, Texas; was buried in Hemphill City Cemetery, Hemphill, Sabine County, Texas. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
