LAMAR COUNTY ECHO '...of Dallas died Fri., March 21, at Meadowgreen Nursing Home. Fry and Gibbs conducted graveside services at 4:30 p.m. Mon. with Rev. Lane Park and Mrs. McLemore's granddaughter and her husband, Sharon and Stephen Goforth. Born at Biardstown, daughter of Robert W. and Mary Ada Womack Robinson. Her husband, J.R. [John Ray] McLemore, died April 30, 1961. She was a Paris High School graduate and attended Sam Houston State College in Huntsville and the University of Texas, East Texas State University. She taught school at Ashland, Blossom and Delmar in Lamar county. In 1961 she was a member of the first faculty at San Jacinto College in Houston. She retired in 1968. Was a former director of the Gulf Coast Chapter of the National Retired Teachers Assn. Surviving are a daughter, Mary Margret Finfrock, Dallas; 7 grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. W. E. 'Mysie' Martin of Dallas. Was preceded in death by a daughter, Mysie Lee Kelly Phelps and a son, Lt. Col. John R. 'Pondus' McLemore.'

John (son of Samuel McFarland McLemore and Rose Ella Bean) was born on 8 Jan 1896 in Erin, Jasper County, Texas; died on 30 Apr 1961 in Paris, Lamar County, Texas; was buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Paris, Lamar County, Texas. 1. Mysie Kelly Lee McLemore was born on 30 Dec 1922 in Biardstown, Lamar County, Texas; died on 8 Mar 1978 in Baytown, Harris County, Texas.
2. John Robinson "Pondus" McLemore was born on 1 Sep 1930 in Paris, Lamar County, Texas; died on 22 May 1982 in Oxon Hill, Prince Georges County, Maryland; was buried in Homerville, Clinch County, Georgia.
