Jack Hand Sr.

Funeral service for Jack Hand Sr., 88, of Nacogdoches was held Sunday, November 8, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. at Nacogdoches Congregational Methodist Church. Interment followed at Fairview Cemetery in Nacogdoches. He passed away Friday, November 6, 2009 at his home in Nacogdoches.

Jack Hand was born November 1, 1921, in Nacogdoches to Eldon and Jasmine Hand. He attended Nacogdoxhers High School and was a WWII Vet, having served in the US Navy. He worked for the US Postal Service and was a rancher. He was a member of the Congregational Methodist Church and a member of the Optimist Club.

He is survived by his wife, Laura Belle Collier Hand; sons, Jack Hand Jr. and wife Paula, Jerry Allen Hand and wife Pattie Fuller Hand, both of Nacogdoches, and John Collier Hand and wife Eva of Hudson; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Laura (daughter of Alton Terrell Collier and Tommie Inez Walker) was born on 19 Jul 1929 in Nacogdoches County, Texas; died on 12 Nov 2013 in Nacogdoches County, Texas; was buried on 15 Nov 2013 in Fairview Cemetery, Nacogdoches County, Texas.
