Social Security Account issued by the Railroad Board. His daughter Martha does not believe he ever worked for the railroads, unless it was when he was very young. However, both his father and brother Keith were railroad employees.

The SSDI showed his last residence as Austin, Williamson County, Texas. The Texas Death Index shows he died in Travis County.

Obituary

William J. White, Jr. 71, died Saturday Oc-t. 22, 1988 at St. David's Hospital in Austin, Texas.

Known as Bill, he was born in Coffeyville, Kan., May 10, 1917, the son of Will and Mae Richards White. They moved to Osawatomie when he was a small boy. He attended the Osawatomie schools and graduated from the Osawatomie High School in the Class of 1935.

He served in the United States Army during World War II, seeing action in North Africa and Italy. At the time of his discharge he was a first lieutenant.

He was married to Anne Boyette of Austin, Texas, in 1946, and had lived in the Austin area since that time.

Preceding him in death were his parents and two brothers, Lawrence White and Keith White.

Surviving are his daughter, Martha White of Austin, Texas; a nephew, Larry White of Osawatomie; and two nieces, Carol Ayres and Peggy Mathis, both of Paola.
Cremation. Memorial graveside services at the Elmdale Cemetery at Osawatomie are pending.

William married Annie Lora "Anne" Boyett on 31 Mar 1945 in Austin, Travis County, Texas, and was divorced on 20 Dec 1973 in Travis County, Texas. Annie (daughter of Robert Edgar Boyett and Clarissa L. Abi Conn) was born on 1 Mar 1922 in Sabine County, Texas; died on 10 Dec 1995 in Austin, Travis County, Texas; was buried in Greenwood Cemetery, Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas. BOYETT - WHITE

Miss Anne Boyett, March 31, became the bride of Lt. William J. White, a member of the medical corps, who served as a transfer post surgeon on a troop ship and was on active duty in the campaign of North Africa, Italy and Corsica.

Mrs. White was graduated from Junction High school (NOTE YEAR 1940) and attended the University of Texas. Lt. Whilte, son of Mrs. Mae White of Osamwatomie, is now stationed at Charleston, S.C. He is a graduate of Osawatomie high school and also attended Kansas University.

The formal ceremony was performed by Dr. W.R. White at the First Baptist Church in Junction (with Junction marked through and AUSTIN written in) Austin, Texas. The bride, who was given in marriage by her brother, Ernest J. Boyett, wore a gown of white slipper satin with a net overskirt. The skirt joined the long torso waist with a low yoke of marquisette. The veil of bridal illusion was caught with a halo of seed pearls. The bride's only jewelry was a diamond cross; she carried a white Bible on which was a white orchid.

Best man was Pvt. Florist Criswell of Cleveland, Ohio, and maid of honor was Miss Beverly Baker of Austin, Texas. (Note - Beverly was actually from Junction).

The couple will be at home in Charleston, S.C.
