Johan and his wife left Europe and settled in Turkey Creek Township, Saline County, Nebraska, sometime between 1875 and 1878. They purchased land from the Chicago, Burlington, and Quincy Railroad Company in the N 1/2 NE 1/4 of Section 31. He received the deed to this land on March 1, 1884. The land was transferred to his son, Peter Cudly on August 3, 1901; to Peter's brother John on January 10, 1917; and to John's son, Joseph John Cudly on April 2, 1924. Robert Vnoucek, the great-great-grandson of Johan Cudly owns 40 acres of the original railroad land. (Milligan, p 255).

3. Josef "Joseph" Cudly was born on 3 Oct 1868 in Moravia; died in Nov 1961 in Crete, Saline County, Nebraska; was buried in Crete Riverside Cemetery, Saline County, Nebraska.
4. Petr "Peter" Cudly was born on 24 Feb 1873 in Moravia; died on 3 Dec 1959 in Placer County, California; was buried in Roseville Public Cemetery, Roseville, Placer County, California.
5. Frances "Fannie" Cudly was born on 19 Jul 1878 in Friend, Saline County, Nebraska; died on 15 Dec 1963 in Nebraska.
