Mrs. Wilma Faye (Mitchell) Allen, age 60, of San Augustine, passed from this life on Friday, July 25, 2014, in Lufkin, after a extended illness.

Wilma was born to Ruby Francis (Lott) Mitchell and Othel Wright Mitchell on August 24, 1953, in Pineland, Texas. She was employed as Dietary Supervisor for the San Augustine Independent School District.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 27, 2014, in the Wyman Roberts Memorial Chapel, with Charles Moody officiating. Interment will be in the Liberty Hill Cemetery in San Augustine County, Texas. Visitation will be from the hours of 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, July 26, 2014, at the Wyman Roberts Funeral Home, 316 West Columbia Street, San Augustine, Texas 75972

Those who are left to cherish her memory include, Her Loving Husband, Claborne Allen of San Augustine; Sons and Daughters-in-law, Chad and Crystal Allen of Martinsville and Ray and Stephanie Allen of Humble; Her grandchildren, Lindsay Allen of Lakes Charles, Louisiana; Shane Allen; Molly Allen and McKinley Allen, all of Martinsville; Sisters, Kathy Spears and her husband, LeRoy of Hemphill; Glenda Mitchell of New Braunfels and Mona Harvey and her husband, Everett of Pineland; Brothers, Rickey Mitchell of Hemphill; Mickey Mitchell and his wife, Diane of Hemphill; Timothy Mitchell and his wife, Tammy of Milam, and Roger Mitchell and his wife, Robin of Hemphill, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Ruby Francis (Lott) Mitchell and Othel Wright Mitchell.

Ruby Lott Mitchell, 78, died Thursday morning in the Sabine County Hospital after an illness. She was born in Hemphill to Floyd and Hessie Conner Lott. Ruby has lived in Hemphill all her life and was a member of the Bethany Missionary Baptist Church.

She is survived by her sons; Ricky Mitchell and his wife Earlene of Patroon, Micky Mitchell and his wife Diane of Louisiana, Roger Mitchell and his wife Robin of Hemphill, and Timothy Mitchell and his wife Tammy of Mabank, her daughters; Kathy Spears and her husband Blue of Hemphill, Wilma Allen and her husband Clayborne of San Augustine, Glenda Whiteside of New Braunfels, and Mona Harvey and her husband Everette of Pineland. She is also survived by twenty-nine grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM, Saturday, January 21, 2012, in the Starr Funeral Home, 510 Starr St., Hemphill, Texas. Funeral services will be at 2:00PM, Sunday, January 22, 2012, in the Starr Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Fairmount Cemetery, Hwy 87 South, Hemphill, Texas.

Floyd Lott is the son of Andrew Jackson Lott and Julia D. Jones. Floyd married Hessie E. Conner, daughter of Robert and Frances Ada Conner. Floyd and Hessie are the parents of daughters Wilmer, Lucille, and Frances Ruby,and sons Floyd Kenneth, and Lloyd Keith. Floyd is the grandson of Nathan Lott and Dicy Lott Lott Mathis of Mississippi. Nathan and Dicy with their children moved to Vernon Parish Louisiana and settled on what is now Fort Polk Military Reservation. After Nathan died, Dicy and some of her children moved to Newton County Texas.

Conner and Ada Francis Crockett) was born on 14 May 1902 in Sabine County, Texas; died on 25 Apr 1979 in Hemphill, Sabine County, Texas; was buried in Spring Branch Cemetery, Springfield, Livingston Parish, Louisiana. On his FindAGrave memorial page, created by Steve Carter and maintained by Cindy Lott it was noted that "Andrew Jackson Lott was born to Nathan Lott and Dicy Lott Lott in Covington Co., Mississippi. around 1870 they moved to Vernon Parish Louisiana, where Fort Polk Military Base presently is. Andrew and some of the Lott family then moved to Texas. Some settled in Sabine Co and some in Newton Co. Texas. Andrew married Julia D. Jones."

There is also a scan of his Texas Death Certificate. Date of birth on this certificate is shown as 8-14-1861 (vs. 1862). Father is lsited as Nathan Lott, but mother is listed as Julia Jones (sic). His wife is listed as Julia Lott. It appears that the information on wife and mother was conflated. He was shown as dying on Bronson, Texas, where he had lived for 48 years.

Andrew married Julia D. Jones. Julia was born about 1866; died about 1953 in Sabine County, Texas; was buried in Lott Cemetery, Sabine County, Texas. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

At the time of the 1900 Federal census, he and his wife Ada were living with his widowed mother in Sabine County, Texas.

Mrs. Ada Conner Dies July 7

Funeral services for Mrs. Ada Frances Conner, 76, were held Tuesday, July 8, at 4 p.m. at the East Mayfield Baptist Church with the pastor, the Rev. L. R. Dunn, officiating. Assisting was the Rev. Dan Marshall, pastor of the Jasper Baptist Church. Burial was in the Springhill cemetery under the direction of the Starr Funeral Home of Hemphill.

Mrs. Conner died suddenly July 7 at her home here at 1:20 p.m. from a heart attack. She was a native of Sabine County and had lived here all her life.

Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Obie Kindley, Mrs. Floyd Lott and Mrs. Ivy Ferguson, all of Hemphill; Mrs. Marvin Herndon of Huntington and Mrs. A. B. Jenkins of Beaumont; two sons, Alton Conner of Hemphill, and Robert Conner of Beaumont; 24 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.
