Funeral services for Ms. Lorene Childress, age 82, of Fayetteville, TN, who passed away Sunday, July 05, 2009 in the Donalson Care Center, will be conducted in the chapel of the Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home.

Burial in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.

Ms. Childress was a native of Lincoln Co., TN, the daughter of the late Tilman Newton & Ollie Williams Towry.

She was a farmer, housewife and a member of the Baptist faith.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Leonard Childress in 2005; 3 sisters: Evelyn Towry, Peggy Towry Phillips, Carolyn Towry Hornbuckle and 4 brothers: Wilford, Garner, Orville & Virgil Towry.

Survivors include 1 sister: Marie Roland of Fayetteville, TN; 5 brothers: Thomas Towry & wife: Ethel of Hildale, MI, Cletus Towry of Fayetteville, TN, Dallas Towry & wife: Hazel of Taylor, MI, Wade Towry & wife: Connie of Chicago, IL, Clyde Towry & wife: Betty of Fayetteville, TN and several nieces and nephews.

Family/Spouse: Leonard Odie Childress. Leonard (son of James Wesley "Wes" Childress and Beadie Mary Putnam) was born on 7 Apr 1921 in Kirkland, Lincoln County, Tennessee; died on 20 Mar 2005 in Fayetteville, Lincoln County, Tennessee; was buried in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Skinem, Lincoln County, Tennessee.
