(Research):Shown on Ancestry.com as a daughter of Joshua BURGESS and Frances Louisa GEORGE. Karen G. Barton lists the same parents, writing that Joshua was born 4 Jan 1851 in Missouri and died 5 Sept 1929 in Oklahoma. He was suffering a terminal illness, and committed suicide by jumping in a well. Frances was born 2 Apr 1856 in Tennessee, and died 24 Feb 1892.

Karen Barton writes that Frances had a twin brother, Franklin Earl who died 2 Apr 1943. Older siblings were James Jonathan (25 Mar 1877), William Edgar (2 Jun 1879), Margaret Bell (23 Jul 1880), Thomas Joshua (13 Jun 1883), and twins Joseph Marvin and Mary Josephine (10 Aug 1886).

Frances married William Hamilton Payne on 3 May 1911 in Butler, Custer County, Oklahoma. William (son of Winfield Scott Payne and Alice America Loring) was born on 13 Jun 1883 in Texas; died on 18 Dec 1964 in Oklahoma. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

2. James Joshua W. Payne was born on 18 Jan 1913 in Oklahoma; and died.
3. Lois Marie Payne was born on 29 Dec 1915 in Kansas; died on 19 Jul 1991 in Texas; was buried in Resthaven Memorial Park, Shawnee, Pottawatomie County, Oklahoma.
4. Charles Lloyd Payne was born about 1918 in Oklahoma; and died.
