Obie Kindley, age 92 of Hemphill, passed away Thursday April 9, 2009 at his residence.

Mr. Kindley was born on March 21, 1917 in Gary Texas to Mack Kindley and Nellie Ann Keller.

He was a resident of Hemphill for 70 years, was an automotive mechanic, member of East Mayfield Baptist church, former mechanic for Reeves Chevrolet & Roper's Motor Co and Don Tate, a Deacon and Charter Member of East Mayfield Baptist Church in Hemphill.

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, April 11, 2009 at 2:00PM at East Mayfield Baptists Church with the Reverend Eddie Ballard officiating. Interment will follow at Springhill Cemetery.

Visitation will occur on Friday, April 10, 2009 from 5:00PM until 8:00PM at Starr Funeral Home in Hemphill.

Survivors include his son Jerry Kindley and wife Cheryl of Hemphill, daughter Juanita Spears and husband Charles of Moore OK, sister Bobbie Jean Wills of White Oak, TX, 5 Grandchildren and 4 Great-Grandchildren.

Services are under the direction of Starr Funeral Home, 510 Starr St, Hemphill TX.

Obie married Dollie Conner before 1945. Dollie (daughter of Robert A. Conner and Ada Francis Crockett) was born on 18 Nov 1920 in Hemphill, Sabine County, Texas; died on 13 May 2007 in Sabine County, Texas; was buried in Spring Hill Cemetery, Hemphill, Sabine County, Texas.
