Generation: 1

  1. 1.  John Shelby Caldwell was born about 1807 in Kentucky; died on 2 Jan 1874.

    Notes:

Casagranda shows him as a son of R. S. Caldwell and Mary Shelby. At the time of the 1860 Sabine Parish, Louisiana census, a 32 year old William Cook, brick mason, born in Alabama, was living with John and Matilda Caldwell. Casagranda writes that as Matilda's brother, also named William Cook was said to have died in February 1860, it was likely another William Cook, and therefore his relationship to Matilda is not known.

Family/Spouse: Matilda Cook. Matilda (daughter of Rev. William Cook and Temperance Morris) was born about 1820 in Mississippi; died about 1882. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
