Octavius Bonneau was the eighth son of William Henry Bonneau and his wife, Anna Maria Swinton. He was married to Frances Elizabeth Cragin, daughter of Dr. John Cragin on 14 Nov. 1867 in Mobile, AL. Children of Octavius and Frances Bonneau were: George Rutledge Bonneau, Annie Bonneau, Evelyn Bonneau, Frances Bonneau, Daisy (Bonneau)Guillard, Margery (Bonneau) Hawkins, and John Henry Bonneau.

Notes:

He is descended from the Bonneau Hugenots who came to America in 1690. They intermarried with the Du Bliss, Vanderhorst, and Mayback families of Charleston. Moved to Hemphill after Maria (Swinton, his first wife) died and m 2nd, Jennie Brooks. He served as Dist. Clerk of Sabine County until his death in 1879, in Mobile, Alabama. (White and Toole, p 81).

She was descended from the Swintons who came to America in 1730 from Swinton, Berwickshire County, Scotland. The Swintons were related to the Stuart Line of Kings, and Sir Walter Scott. (White and Toole, p 81).
