1. | Clyde Burnett Maxey was born on 15 Aug 1942 in Galveston County, Texas (son of Robert Valery Maxey and Signa Lee Halbert); died on 20 Apr 2021 in Hemphill, Sabine County, Texas; was buried on 25 Apr 2021 in Milam Cemetery, Milam, Sabine County, Texas. Notes:
Clyde Burnett Maxey, 78, passed away suddenly on April 20, 2021 in Hemphill, Texas.
Born in Galveston, Texas to Robert Valery Maxey and Signa Lee Halbert Maxey, Clyde was a lifelong resident of East Texas, growing up in Milam, Texas.
He graduated from Hemphill High School in 1960 and attended Stephen F. Austin State University until he was drafted, whereupon he served for six years as a member of the 2nd Armored Division in the US Army. Spending the majority of his adulthood in Diboll, Texas, Clyde retired from Temple Eastex after a 41 year career in sales. He served his community as an active member of Diboll First United Methodist Church for more than 50 years, a member of the Diboll Volunteer Fire Department for 17 years, and as a city alderman. Clyde was a member of the Angelina County Airport Breakfast Club (Lufkin) and the Martin's Corner Motley Crew (Milam).
Clyde was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He found happiness when sitting in the quiet of a still morning in the woods and could often be found "just piddlin'" in his woodshop, but his greatest joy came when spending time with his family, traveling with Linda, and laughing with his grandchildren.
He is survived by the love of his life and wife of 54 years, Linda Carol Love Maxey of Houston, Texas and currently residing in Milam, Texas; daughter Tabitha and husband, Curtis Hippler of West, Texas; daughter Tracey and husband, Jim Cox of Ft. Worth, Texas; grandchildren Cullen Hippler and wife, Kay, Keaton Hippler, Kelsey Cox and Gavin Cox.
Memorial donations may be made to Diboll First United Methodist Church, St. Jude's Children's Hospital or the Wounded Warrior Project.
A man of strong Christian faith, we celebrate with him as he now sits with our Lord in his eternal home.
Funeral services will begin at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, April 25, 2021 at Starr Funeral Home Chapel, 510 Starr Street, Hemphill, Texas with Rev. Becky Love officiating.

14. | Dan Cordray was born before 1867 in Texas; and died. Notes:
At the time of the 1900 Sabine County census, 33 year old Dolly Cordray, a widow, can be found with her three children, Cleveland age 15, Leonard age 12, and Bettie, age 11. The children were all shown as being born in Texas, as were both their parents. The 1961 Death Certificate of the eldest child, Cleveland, shows his parents as Dan Cordray and Dollie Wilson. Could this be the same Dan Cordray, born ca 1834 in Georgia, who married first Louisa Williams? She died in 1878, and her marker can be found in the Cordray Cemetery. This does not appear likely, however, as at the time of the 1880 Census, the Daniel Cordray born ca 1834 is enumerated with a wife named Martha Cordray, two years younger than him.
Dan married Dollie C. Wilson before 1884. Dollie (daughter of William Cregg Wilson and Bethie "Bettie" H. Lawhorn) was born in Apr 1867 in Texas; died on 30 Apr 1950 in Sabine County, Texas; was buried in Milam Cemetery, Milam, Sabine County, Texas. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
