In 1920 and 1930, he can be found in Sabine County, a son of Thomas C. and Lula Jackson, on of their seven children.

Dewey married Edelle "Doll" Gooch on 12 Mar 1976 in Jefferson County, Texas. Edelle (daughter of Robert Lawrence Gooch and Ida Youngblood) was born on 15 Dec 1923 in Sabine County, Texas; died on 17 Jun 2003 in Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas; was buried in Mount Sinai Cemetery, Fairdale, Sabine County, Texas.
