At the same time Henry Y. Smith, the Brownings, Greers, Daniel Cordray, and no doubt, many other Georgians transfered themselves to Texas and settled in the Redlands of Sabine County. Lewis S. Williams was a surveyor and farmer."

I have many other documents supporting this...."

    "Received a land grant from the Republic of Texas (bro. of John Franklin McGown). Alex H. McGown was sherriff of Sabine County for many years. All these McGowns are buried in the Browning Cemetery on the Camino Real near Milam." (White and Toole, p 52).
