Georgia Marie Michl Schropfer was born to Frank and Anna (Brejcha) Michl on January 27, 1927 in her family's home on a farm near Tobias, Nebraska. She died November 8, 2020 at the Fairview Manor in Fairmont, Nebraska at the age of 93 years, 9 months, and 12 days.

Georgia attended Possum Hill country school, and graduated from Milligan High School in 1944. She taught country school, a one room school where she taught 1st-8th grade for four years. Georgia married Jess Schropfer on August 8, 1948 in the United Methodist Church in Milligan. The couple had four children. They lived and worked together on their farm near Ohiowa, Nebraska for nearly 68 years. Georgia milked cows and raised chickens. She was very proud that she paid all her household expenses with the money she earned selling cream and eggs. Georgia kept a large vegetable garden and fruit trees, as well as a flower garden. She fed her family very well with her canning, freezing, cooking and baking. Georgia was always ready with a hearty meal no matter how late the notice, or how many extra people would be there. Georgia always made herself available to help her husband and her sons on the farm, driving equipment, giving rides, driving for parts, and taking them lunch in the field.

She was an active member of St. John's Lutheran church in Ohiowa. She served as an officer in the Ladies Aide, including several years as President. She helped make quilts for Lutheran World relief. Georgia also served as a 4-H leader where she taught sewing and cooking skills.

Georgia loved to garden, read, sew and cook. She taught herself to sew by taking apart an old dress and using it as a pattern. Her skills grew and she was able to sew her daughter's wedding gown. She also raised all the gladiolas for her daughter's wedding. She made quilts, and sewed dolls and stuffed animals for her grandkids and great grandkids.

Georgia was happy to support her kids and grandkids by attending sporting events and concerts. She was proud to travel to Nashville, Tennessee to watch her daughter compete in the Junior Olympics. Georgia and Jess enjoyed traveling, and took their kids on trips to Yellowstone and Pikes Peak and to visit family. Later, they traveled with family and friends to destinations including Washington D.C., Disney World, California, Seattle and Canada, as well as numerous trips to visit family and friends.

Georgia's greatest joy was her family. She loved spending time with her kids, grandkids, great grandkids, and her great great granddaughter. Georgia loved caring for her grandkids, and was always up for a project, be it painting, sewing, flower arranging, or filling the living room with a "covered wagon" made of cushions and pillows. She welcomed her grandkids' "help" in the garden, caring for chickens, and cooking. When she baked a pie, the grandkids baked their own small pie to go with it.

After Jess passed away, she moved to Country Reflections Assisted Living in Fairmont. She enjoyed her time there and had many close friends, residents and staff, that she considered to be like family.

Georgia was preceded in death by her husband Jess, her parents, Frank and Anna Michl, her siblings Albert and Alice Michl, Herman and Erma Michl, Carl and Elsie Michl Leo Michl and Silvia and Joe Girmus.

She is survived by her sister, Blanche Knudson; her son Duane Schropfer;, her son and daughter-in-law Ron and Georgia Schropfer;, daughter and son-in-law Bill and Carol Woodward, son and daughter-in-law Roger and Carrie Schropfer; grandchildren Bill and Amanda Schropfer, Ann and Kerry Holmstrom, Jon and Dawn Schropfer, Ben and Trina Schropfer, Cari and Andres Casas, Eric and Holli Woodward, Amanda Woodward and husband Ben Owen, Justin and Laura Britton, Brandon and Amber Hartsock; great-grandchildren Dietra and B.J. Miller, Nate Schropfer, Wyatt and Garrett Hansen, Becka and Linnea Holmstrom, Gus Schropfer, Amber, Sarah, Rachel and Lucy Schropfer, Madison Casas, Jackson and Lexi Woodward, Lucas Owen, Alaysia, Kaidan and Charlie Britton, Lilly Krusemark, Penelope Hartsock, and Emory Hartsock, great- great-granddaughter, Ripley Miller; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

It was Georgia's wish to be cremated with a private family committal of ashes to be held at a later date in the Ohiowa Public Cemetery.
