The Duncan Banner-Feb. 5, 1976 Mrs. Sarah Gentry Dies Wednesday Mrs. Sarah Frances Gentry, 88, Geneva Courts, died at 2:40 p.m. Wednesday in a local hospital after a brief illness. Service will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the First Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Bryan Halliburton, pastor, assisted by Rev. Quitman McCrory, pastor of the First United Methodist Church. Mrs. Gentry was born Nov. 26, 1887 in Courtney Flat, Okla. She had been a resident of Duncan for the past (25? 35? can't read) years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, the United Daughters of the Confederacy, the Red Bud Garden Club unit, the LL Club and the Joy Club. Her husband, Edgar J. Gentry died in 1967 in Duncan. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. John T. Callahan of 1327 Normandy Road; a son, W. T. Gentry of 1116 Elm; a grandson and a great-grandson. Burial will be in the Duncan Cemetery under direction of the Don Grantham Funeral Home. Bearers will be Erwin Kaltwasser, Clint Roberts, Merle Kincannon, Riley Coates, Warlick Wilkinson, J. W. Kincannon, Bill Pogue and Benny Wilson.

1. William Thomas "Dub" Gentry was born on 23 Jul 1910 in Duncan, Stephens County, Oklahoma; died on 28 Nov 1990 in Duncan, Stephens County, Oklahoma; was buried in Duncan Municipal Cemetery, Duncan, Stephens County, Oklahoma.
2. Mary Thelma Gentry was born on 13 Jan 1912 in Duncan, Stephens County, Oklahoma; died on 9 Jun 1996 in Duncan, Stephens County, Oklahoma.

Jessie married Sidney Georgina Hart about 1885. Sidney was born in Feb 1868 in Indian Territory; died about 1936 in Oklahoma. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
