      The "History of Ionia County, Michigan, her people, industries and...., Volume 2" by Elam E. Brach and EarlW. De La Vergne, notes that Mary Ann was one of the nine children of John and Catherine Meyers, who settled this county in early days. John Meyers, who was the son of Valentine Meyers, a native of Germany, upon coming to Ionia County, entered a quarter section homestead for himself and one for each of his children, the family presently being one of the most substantial inteh southern part of the county.
