  Notes	The Sabine County Reporter December 3, 1997, Page 10 Ida Gooch Ida Gooch, 95, of Rt. 4, Hemphill, died at 9:57 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 30, 1997, at Hemphill Care Center. She was born March 29, 1902, in Sabinetown as a daughter of the late Jane (Gomer) and Van B. Youngblood and had been a lifelong resident of Sabine County. A homemaker, Mrs. Gooch was a member of the First Baptist Church and its Martha Sunday School Class. Survivors: five children, Marcelle Moore, Pauline Neal, R. F. Gooch, and J. E. Gooch, all of Hemphill, and Edelle Jackson of Beaumont; 12 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren, and eight great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, R. L. Gooch and a son, C. P. Gooch. Funeral services were held at 2 pm. Tuesday at the chapel of Starr Funeral Home Inc. in Hemphill with Bro. Bobby C. Dagnel, Bro. Clarence Howell, and Bro. Bob Arthur officiating. Interment followed at Harper Chapel Cemetery in Sabine County. (Transcribed by Melinda McLemore Strong, March 2011)
