    Notes 
    • After graduating in 1941 from Milligan High School, he went to work for the Curtis Wright AirCraft factory in Buffalo, New York. In 1943, he moved to the Glen I. Martin plant in Omaha, entering the air force later that year. He served in the C.B. I. theatre as an Aircraft Fligh engineer, being discharged March 22, 1946, and returning to farming.     • After their marriage they lived on a farm northeast of Milligan until June 1952, when they retired and moved into Milligan. There they operated the Fairmont Produce station until 1957. In January 1966 they celebrated their Golden Wedding anniversary and received 50 year pins from ZCBJ Lodge Svatopluk Cech #76. (Milligan, pp 230-231).

    • They were the parents of three daughters. The eldest, Jan, was a 1967 Milligan High School graduate who went onto the University of Nebraska. Their middle daughter, Sherrill, was a 1970 Milligan High School graduate, who also attended the University of Nebraska. Sherrill married Tom DAVIS, and they were the parents of Travis John Davis. Youngest daughter, Lisa, was a 1981 Milligan High School graduate, and attended Joseph's college. (Milligan, p 230).

      After her husband's death, Dorothy purchased a home in Beatrice with her daughter, Lisa Buzek, who was her caretaker. After Lisa's marriage to Randall HANSEN in 2005, Dorothy resided at The Kensington until she moved to the Exeter Care Center in April 2008 to be closer to family. (Milligan, 1988-2008, p. 130).
