  Notes	George W. Haney may have been in Texas at least as early as 1900. A listing that appears to be for him can be found on in Milam County. As of that census, a 22 year old George W. Haney, still single, can be found listed as a boarder in the home of Jefferson and Georgia APLIN. George's date of birth was listed as September 1877, with his place of birth shown as Texas, with his father being listed as born in Alabama and his mother as being born in Arkansas. From subsequent census records, it appears that he was actually born in Arkansas, not Texas. His occupation was listed as farmer. Around 1907, George married Lenora Barge. At the time of the 1910 census, George and Lenora were living in a home with two other families in Limestone County, Texas. Limestone County was just northeast of Milam. One of the familes sharing their home was headed by Nora's brother, Willis BARGE. The other family was that of John and Laura POTTER. The relationship of the POTTER family to either George or Lenora, if any, is not known.
