    • Mary, born 1859, married John JESS July 5, 1876, in the home of the Justice of the Peace Francis M. Shirley. They had six children: Mary was the first wife of Frank BURES, Anna married her couisn, Joseph JESS, Jr.; Emil; Valentine, Emma married Joe BARTA and a baby, born June 6, 1887, died September 15, 1887. Mary Jess died June 12, 1887. John Jess married (2) Frances ZDENEK January 26, 1888 and they moved to the State of Washington some time later (Milligan, p. 375).

It is possible that the date of their marriage may be incorrect, as their oldest daughter was born in either September 1874 or September 1875. The actual records should be examined if possible.
