James was born to Billie Gilchrist Lavell Boyett and Roy Lavell Boyett on April 20, 1935, in Rosevine, Texas. Survivors include his wife, Helen Boyett; son, Jon Paul Boyett and his wife Kelly, all of Devers; daughter, Rebecca Villarreal and her husband Eduardo of League City; eight grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; and son, James "Jim" Boyett, Jr. His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 17, 2011, at Broussard's, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont, with burial to follow at Gravel Hill Cemetery in Hemphill, Texas.
