  Notes	Lewis Ellzey of Pike County, Mississippi and wife Eva Shaeffer are the parents of John Hill Ellzey. The other two Ellzey families listed in this census would be cousins to this John. John Hill Ellzey (Elzee) married Mary Jane Sibley (dtr of parents in dwelling 350 of this census) September 25, 1841. They were living in Natchitoches Parish at the time of Avarilla Albritton Sibley's death in 1859-1860. The progenitor of the Ellzey (Ellzey, Elzy, Esly) family is believed to be Lewis Ellzey who in 1800 resided in Fairfield C County, South Carolina. (Casagranda, 1850 Census, 109).
