  Notes	Ken Harvey writes that: "Samuel's son Silas married a Langhorne. It was believed she was an Aunt of Mark Twain (Samuel Langhorne Clemen's). However there appears to be no connection with the Lampton family, and Mark Twain's mother actually had the maiden name Lampton." The Babbit-Campell Tree on Ancestry.com instead shows his wife as Mary SAUNDERS. No parents or sources for that middle name are cited on that tree, however. She is listed in Family Search's Pedigree Resource File as Mary Skinner Saunders.

• Photos		Marshall, Silas and wife Mary Langhorne Silas Marshall was a merchant in Missouri, later moving to Little Rock, Arkansas as an Insurance Agent. This cabinet portrait, marked "T. W. Bankes' Gallery of Photographic Art, Little Rock" was probably taken shortly after the Civil War. It was inscribed on the back, "Compliments of Mr. and Mrs. S.N. Marshall to Miss Lizzie Payne." Lizzie was the eldest daughter of Silas's sister Martha Jane Marshall. The photographer, Thomas Bankes was a native of England who was well known for his Civil War photos, following the Federal Army from Helena, Ark. to Little Rock, Ark. in 1864. He serviced the central Arkansas area until the 1870's.
