  Notes	Charles was involved in business as a young lad. He helped his father in the meat market, later he clerked at the A.A. HAMOUZ General Merchandise Store. He sold cream separators, served as a substitute mail carrier, and drove the school hack wagon, where he became better acquainted with one of the passengers, Agnes KRISL, whom he later married. Charles clerked for C. J. CERVENY for a number of years before opening his own store in 1913. (Milligan, p 349).
