    Notes 
    • Emil was a trucker for several years, owned and operated a restaurant, and did carpenter work for many people. He and his brother Bill built various dwellings around the community. He was one of the first volunteer firemen and served the town of Milligan for 68 years. He was a charter member of the Knight of Pythias and a member of the ZCBJ Lodge. His nickname was "Skelly." (Milligan, p 292).
